Kaplan Professional’s online SA Registered Property Manager Upgrade program is ideal if you have already completed a SA Sales Representative course (or intend to do so), and wish to become a registered Property Manager.

You will gain an introductory understanding of the aspects of working in real estate that are specific to leasing, including listing and marketing for lease, ongoing tenancy management, and presenting tribunal cases.

If you have already completed a SA Sales Representative Program containing the below units, successful completion of this course meets the educational requirement for SA Consumer and Business Services to apply for registration as a property manager:

  • CPPDSM4007A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property management to complete agency work
  • CPPDSM4009 Interpret legislation to complete work in the property industry
  • CPPDSM4010A Lease property
  • CPPDSM4015B Minimise agency and consumer risk
  • CPPDSM4017A Negotiate effectively in property transactions

Please note: If you have not completed a SA Sales Representative program and wish to apply for your property manager registration only, it is recommended you complete Kaplan Professional’s full SA Registered Property Manager program (note: this will not allow registration as a Sales Representative). Please refer to the below diagram for further information:

Duration

Individuals have a total of 26 weeks (6 months) to complete the learning and assessment requirements for the SA Registered Property Manager Upgrade Program from their initial activation date.

Extensions are available at an additional cost.

The subject breakdown for this course is below:

  • CPPDSM4011A List property for lease
  • CPPDSM4013A Market property for lease
  • CPPDSM4016A Monitor and manage lease or tenancy agreement
  • CPPDSM4020A Present at tribunals

All subjects, except SARegPMUOA, form the units of competency in this course. These units make up part of CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate).

All subjects except the oral assignment subject will be activated upon initial enrolment. Individuals are required to complete all other subjects prior to attempting the oral assignment. The above is the recommended study order of subjects; however, individuals have the flexibility to complete in any order, with the oral assignment as the last subject.

The amount of training for this course may be up to 15 hours per week. The amount of training is the hours an individual can expect to spend to complete their course work and assessments.

In addition to the amount of training, individuals who are new to industry or vocational training could need up to 5 hours per week known as unsupervised hours. These additional hours are for study skills or further research. For example, an individual not working in industry would need more time to review industry websites that are usually introduced in workplace compliance training.

Individuals in job roles related to the real estate industry may be able to complete the course requirements in a shorter timeframe or less hours per week.

Assessment

The assessment for each subjects are listed below. Units of competency are individually assessed within subjects, as listed in ‘Units of competency’.
